A vocational program for Berkeley/Oakland students that places you in paid internships at companies like Bayer or Grifols.
In an internship with a real company that’s doing real science a student can see what a STEM-related career looks like in a safe and supportive environment
We find that they are very very well prepared, both in terms of technical skills and in terms of the professional skills that they need to be successful in the workplace

If you live in Alameda county, this is your regional fair. Essential for qualifying for state/national genetics competitions.
ASDRP (Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program)
A non-profit research institute in Fremont. You join a research group for a semester or summer. Look for the "Genetics & Genomics" department projects.
