Members complete 100+ hours of basic training (including 24 classroom hours and two 48-hour weekend field sessions) followed by a 6-month probationary period, then respond to rock climbing rescues, winter and avalanche operations, wilderness first aid, and support local law enforcement and fire departments. Recruiting opens in spring.
