NSLC International Diplomacy
NSLC's International Diplomacy program has high schoolers take on the role of UN diplomats, debating current events and practicing negotiation across a joint session split between Georgetown University and Columbia University. Students explore international relations theory alongside communication and leadership skills.

American Legion Boys Nation
One of the most selective civic-education programs in the country: two delegates chosen from each state's American Legion Boys State program (about 100 nationally from a pool of 20,000+ Boys State participants) travel to Washington, D.C. to serve a week as mock U.S. senators, drafting bills, holding committee hearings, and meeting elected officials.
Bay Area Urban Debate League (BAUDL)
The Bay Area Urban Debate League partners with Oakland and San Francisco public school districts to give high school students access to competitive policy debate, including the Julia Burke Debate Institute summer program. BAUDL runs a season of local and national-circuit tournaments and helps cover participation and travel costs to make debate accessible to under-resourced students.
BearMUN
BearMUN is UC Berkeley's dedicated high school Model United Nations conference, run by the Berkeley Model United Nations (BMUN) student secretariat to extend their collegiate MUN program to high schoolers. The 2026 conference runs December 5-6 on the UC Berkeley campus with roughly 500 delegates across 16 committees.
