Scouts join local troops, complete merit badges across 130+ subjects, plan and lead service projects, and progress toward the rank of Eagle Scout — a nationally recognized leadership distinction. No prior Cub Scout experience required.

Arapahoe Rescue Patrol
All-volunteer search and rescue organization in Arapahoe County, Colorado, composed entirely of high school students who provide free search, rescue, and emergency services since 1957. Members complete 100+ hours of basic training (including 24 classroom hours and two 48-hour weekend field sessions) followed by a 6-month probationary period, then respond to rock climbing rescues, winter and avalanche operations, wilderness first aid, and support local law enforcement and fire departments. Recruiting opens in spring.
California Coastal Cleanup Day
Annual statewide volunteer event removing trash and debris from California's beaches, lakes, and waterways. Participants contribute to environmental protection and learn about marine conservation.
Children's Hospital Colorado Junior Volunteer Program
Year-round and summer volunteer opportunities for teens 13-18 at Children's Hospital Colorado, with a six-month minimum commitment of three hours per week. Volunteers support hospital departments and family events; outstanding volunteers are recognized with two $2,500 Junior Volunteer Recognition Scholarships annually.
Concord Senior Center Youth Volunteers
Intergenerational program where teens assist with senior activities, technology help, meal service, and special events. Youth build relationships with older adults while supporting senior services.

Volunteer program offering trail work, habitat restoration, interpretive programs, and park maintenance across 73 parks in the East Bay. Youth gain outdoor leadership and environmental stewardship skills.
