USC Pre-College: The Science of Food, Nutrition and the Biological World
A four-week residential USC pre-college program exploring the science of nutrition, molecular biology, and food systems, including the biology of taste and smell and the impact of agriculture on nutrition and the environment.
This science-packed summer program gives high schoolers a hands-on, interesting and immediately applicable look at how food nourishes and supports the body’s functions.
Students are required to have completed at least one year of high school biology with a grade of B or above.
Students must bring their own laptops.

Paleontology Academy California (Sternberg Museum)
Paleontology Academy California, run by Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History, is a two-week residential program on the Santa Cruz coast where students ages 15-18 study marine paleobiology, comparing living coastal species to their extinct relatives through fossil-site fieldwork and visits to the UC Museum of Paleontology and Monterey Bay Aquarium.
